Opinaca Lithium

The Opinaca Lithium property, 100% owned by Matamec, is in an area targeted for generating new lithium projects that corresponds to the Eastmain River Belt, an extensive 400km-long volcano-plutonic assemblage which is part of the La Grande Sub-Province. It has been well established that most polymetallic concentrations, including lithium, are closely related to tectonic and metamorphic boundaries with the Opinaca gneissic terranes.
The Eastmain Belt architecture is made of multiple cycles of volcanism and sedimentary episodes whose age extends over a period of approximately 50 million years. This long evolution may explain the diversity and number of mineralization occurrences and highlights the potential to host a major deposit.
